The West of England is becoming even more film-friendly as Bath and Bristol return to FilmApp—this time joined by North Somerset, a new addition to the FilmApp community.
FilmApp is widely used by councils across the UK, US and New Zealand to help production companies apply for permission to film on location. It provides a consistent user-friendly way to manage the logistics of filming, benefiting both local authorities and the creative industries they support.
Bristol and Bath are well-established filming destinations and both have previously worked with FilmApp to handle location permit requests. Their return to the platform reflects a continued commitment to supporting the region’s thriving screen sector.
North Somerset meanwhile is coming on board as a new FilmApp user for the first time. With stunning coastlines, countryside and historical locations, North Somerset offers a wide range of filming possibilities.
By joining FilmApp the district is opening its doors to productions of all sizes, providing clear guidance and a simplified route to getting permits approved. Together Bath, Bristol and North Somerset are aligning their processes to offer a coordinated, accessible experience for productions working in the region.
