The Apply4 team combines unique experience in film production, events management and software development.
We started creating online applications for film and event administrators working in local government in 2007. We have evolved our products since then, in response to our clients’ needs, and now have over 100 clients in the USA, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Andrew spent many years working in film production before applying his industry knowledge to software development, to improve the way permits are processed. With his wealth of experience managing inflexible film schedules and limited budgets, Andrew knew that efficient software could make all the difference. For this reason, the first product he developed was FilmApp. The benefits to Events became obvious very quickly and Apply4 Technology’s product portfolio has grown accordingly.
Karen worked freelance in the film industry for many years, in locations, production and post production. She began working with business partner, Andrew Pavord in 2007 and set up FilmFixer and Apply4 Technology in 2009. Karen has a wealth of industry knowledge and understands better than anyone how important it is for communication to be clear and error free. As CEO of both companies, Karen is responsible for keeping both organisations on track.
Greg Schwanzl has a long history in software sales and marketing. Greg understands customers requirements, and knows how to communicate these user stories to the development team. Greg heads up the USA division of Apply4 Technology.
Raúl graduated in computer science from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2014 and has been working on the Apply4 platform since 2016. He has many hobbies including staying fit, brewing craft beer, and fishing. Raúl's an avid supporter of FC Barcelona and is pretty happy most of the time.
Hugh has a diverse background in both the private and public sector, ideally placed to understand the needs of our clients. As Operations Manager for Apply4, Hugh works closely with our clients and carries out a variety of work across the Apply4 platform.
Before joining Apply4, Sam designed, managed and delivered digital services in Government. He brings a vast knowledge of the needs of the public sector and has experience working on a variety of digital products and services. Sam is the Product Owner for the Apply4 system, working closely with our customers and customer support team to understand client needs and translating them into solutions with our software development team.
Matt heads up the technology team at Apply4 and is responsible for product strategy and development. He works closely with our product owner and software developers to continually improve the Apply4 platform. Matt has a background in software development and expertise in a broad range of technologies. He loves finding ways to use technology to make the world work a little bit better. In his spare time, Matt enjoys running and spending time with his wife and young son.
Miron joined the Apply4 team in February 2021. He enjoys building web products and he finds the Ruby on Rails framework that we use to be the perfect tool to provide business value – quickly and efficiently. His free time is spent on training for triathlons, baking sourdough bread, watching movies (probably too often) and being saddened by his favourite club, Arsenal (always).
Max has experience across a number of different roles but finds software development particularly satisfying, seeing software developers as modern artisans. He enjoys working on pet projects to learn new things and, in his spare time, can spend countless hours watching "Friends" or "Dead Poet Society" or reading Max Frei books. In some circles he's known as "not a bad runner."
