Bath, Bristol and North Somerset Adopt EventApp, FilmApp and LocationDB

10th March 2026

Three authorities in the West of England, Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol City Council and North Somerset Council, are strengthening their support for events and filming by adopting EventApp, FilmApp and LocationDB.

Together, the three councils are creating a more coordinated approach to managing event applications, filming requests and location promotion across the region.

Supporting the region’s film and television industry

Bath and Bristol have long been popular filming destinations, hosting a wide range of television and film productions. Both authorities have previously worked with FilmApp and are continuing to use the platform as part of their approach to managing filming activity.

North Somerset has now joined the FilmApp community for the first time, helping to open up more of the region’s coastline, countryside and historic locations to the screen industry.

By using the same system across all three authorities, production companies working in the West of England can benefit from a more consistent application process when planning shoots that span multiple council areas.

Showcasing locations across the West of England

Alongside FilmApp, the councils are also using LocationDB to showcase potential filming locations across the region. Our platform helps film offices manage and promote a diverse range of locations, making it easier for location managers and production teams to discover new places to film.

Supporting events across the region

Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol and North Somerset are also using EventApp to manage event applications, helping councils coordinate the wide range of public events that take place across the region each year.

By bringing events and filming processes onto the Apply4 platform, the three authorities are aligning their approach and supporting the continued growth of the West of England’s creative and events sectors.
